Eastern Palace By Sam Wilde - The Japanese word fuubutsushi, marks the anticipation we feel for the changing of the seasons. It is the realisation that every precious moment of our lives is fleeting, and each of these changes will bring with it a new season. Passionate about Japan's natural history and cultural heritage, Sam chronicles the country's four main islands, represented in turn by the four seasons. Each island is home to ancient Shinto shrines, temples and monuments, alongside which lies a rich tapestry of endemic seasonal and topiary flora. Finally, beneath the islands lie sleeping giant kami, represented by animals found only in Japan, the elusive giant catfish, the giant salamander, the samurai crab and the stone turtle.
