The original version of this wallpaper, which depicts storks at the water's edge and small birds perched on nearby branches, is thought to date from between 1825 and 1850. Discovered hidden behind the oak panelling of Temple Newsham in 1894, the pictorial scene of this adaptation is framed by a bamboo lattice that amplifies the height of the design. Digitally printed on woven grass cloth.
