The inspiration for this print is "Sole di Capri", a design created by Piero Fornasetti in the 1950s. Piero Fornasetti had a long-standing passion for Capri and created this iconic design from his imagination, before he had ever visited the legendary island. Eventually, Piero took his family there on holiday and, during the 1960s, he also opened a temporary Fornasetti boutique on the island. The original print is a combination of personified suns and stylised architecture, both typical of Fornasetti. The idea of combining personified suns and clouds first appeared in a sketch for a scarf that Piero drew in 1950. Now it is a whimsical all-over print, which brings a unique peculiarity to an interior.
