This design takes its name and inspiration from Kailua, a place on the charming east coast of the island of Oahu where palm trees reign. To create this mural covering, undulating palm trees were interspersed with pieces of rattan on a bark cloth background, a fibrous fabric made from the bark of fig trees. A highly realistic interpretation was then made of the whole, which comes to life beautifully on the wall.
