The willow, with its delicately intertwined branches and leaves that rustle evocatively in the slightest breeze, is a motif that William Morris returned to constantly throughout his creative life.
Emery's Willow is based on a wallpaper design first produced in 1874 that hung in the dining room of William Morris's esteemed typographer, book printer and friend, Sir Emery Walker.
