FABRICS Planum C0521

Planum is a knitted upholstery fabric with a refined weave expression and a smooth, soft surface. It comes in curiosity-inspiring colours created by Dutch Design Studio Raw Color.

Characterised by a subtle matt sheen and a natural, dry feel, the knitted fabric is constructed using a simple double knit with a predominantly wool surface.

To create Planum's versatile colour scale, Raw Color took a collection of three-dimensional objects as a starting point. The studio explored various directions and nuances before making a final selection of 20 shades from 350 hand-painted samples.

Raw Color: "We decided to develop the colour palette based on hand-painted samples. This allowed us to create less expected and unusual shades".

Naturally for a knitted fabric, Planum has excellent stretchability, making it ideal for upholstering organic shapes while minimising the number of seams. Suitable for contract and private use, the textile combines well with the more voluminous three-dimensional textiles in the Kvadrat Febrik collection.
