This sculpture made of porcelain and decorated in a forceful combination of white, black and gold lustre is the fruit of a collaboration between Lladró and Laolu Senbanjo, a Nigerian visual artist, musician, human rights lawyer and activist based in Brooklyn. Senbanjo's personal graphic language, which combines influences from Nigeria's Yoruba culture with a contemporary treatment, is integrated into the sculptural form, giving rise to a singular work with the stamp of a committed creator. ** The translation of Senbanjo's drawing into porcelain requires the outstanding work of two main areas. On the one hand, the ornamentation team that has to engrave each of the lines by hand so that they can be recreated in the pieces.
