Description:
Art inspires art, so it happens in this composition that takes as a reference the work of the famous impressionist painter, Sorolla, also known as the painter of light. This artist of manners, seascapes and landscapes, born in the coastal city of Valencia - Spain - stood out for the luminous intensity of his work, for his ability to capture light and shadow. And it is in homage to this Sorolla, whose 160th birthday it is, that this scene of a couple out for a boat ride comes from. This creation is an example of sculptural composition and ornamental richness. Of particular note is the meticulous hand-work in bas-relief to recreate the embroidery on the lady's dress and shawl, the motifs on the parasol and the engravings on the boat, which are so reminiscent of the grain and textures of wood. A creation in which the colour white prevails, so prominent in Sorolla's work, the pastel tones and the floral touches, handmade, petal by petal.
