Hermes, mastered oratory, was cunning and intelligent and the gods appointed him their herald. The messenger capable of convincing with his eloquence and charm. This god of Olympus was usually depicted with wings on his feet because he had to go quickly to deliver Zeus' orders wherever he was required.
