Description:
Atlas, son of Japetus and the nymph Climene, leader of the giant Titans, led the rebellion against Zeus and, as punishment, was condemned to eternally hold the sky... Many are the legends that revolve around this strong man who holds the enormous arch of the heavens to separate it from the earth and maintain the balance of the universe and to whom mathematical and astrological knowledge is also attributed. The making of Atlas requires a set of 12 moulds, from which the porcelain fragments of which it is composed are extracted. In order to intensify the strength of this god, no colour was chosen other than that of the carefully chosen touches of golden lustre and the iridescent metallic enamels of the sphere.
