This piece inspired by the Viennese painter's most famous work was made to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). Klimt's painting, influenced by symbolism and art nouveau, is notable for its ornamental exuberance, so the challenge for Lladró's artists has been to remain faithful to the spirit of the original by means of a decoration in which the golden lustre, the application of enamels and the different shades of gloss and matt play a fundamental role.
