Sculpture Lord Shrinathji. Limited Series
Description:
Shrinathji is a form of Krishna, one of India's most revered deities, embodied in a seven-year-old boy. Shrinathji is a graceful divinity, the balanced abode of contradictions. He is a child, yet he holds the world. He is both pond and lotus, he is everything. A deity who, in this majestic porcelain representation, stands out for his sumptuous decoration, exquisitely faithful to traditional iconography, and for the dazzling ornamental richness of a god who is the pure manifestation of bliss. A wide range of finishes have been used in the execution of this imposing sculpture, from the combination of matt and glossy porcelain with enamels, to different finishes of gold lustres and metallic tones. The intense saffron colour of her robes signifies happiness and success. It is also richly decorated with an assortment of hand-painted jewels in intense greens and blues, and with a splendid garland of white flowers, modelled, petal by petal, by the Lladró artists.
