Lord Ganesha is the god of wisdom and knowledge. This deity, who is very popular in India, is depicted here playing a Hindu flute (bansuri). The piece also shows other attributes of the traditional iconography of Ganesha, such as the gada (mace), the paasha (noose) and the broken tusk, elements whose symbolism is reflected in the avatars or traditional stories about Ganesha, well known by his numerous followers.
